At the Eleventh Annual Roblox Development Conference (RDC), Roblox launched a series of new functionality and developer tools. According to the company, the publication was designed to empower creators to produce more attractive content, enhance benefits and establish sustainable business models.

Last year, during the RDC, Roblox CEO David Baszucki proposed the goal of securing a 10% share of the global game content market for the creative community. In the 12 months to 30 June 2025, Roblox claimed that the creators had earned more than $1 billion through the developer’s exchange plan and that the current year’s revenues were expected to exceed that figure.
The current RDC Congress highlighted four major technological breakthroughs: the creation of 4D objects supporting interactive models, real-time voice chat translation, new text-to-speech and voice-to-speech API, and the upgrading of artificial intelligence assistants. To assist creators to expand their audience, Roblox is testing the short video-sharing function, Roblox Moments, and expanding its partnership with the American and Thai company IP.

In addition, Roblx announced that the developer ‘ s exchange rate would increase to 8.5 per cent. David Baszuki said: “When the creator has a faithful community, the final step is to explore ways to make money on Roblox. We have built an economic system in which creators of any size can succeed. We have been looking for new ways to support creators in building a prosperous business on the platform. From today, we will raise DevEx exchange rates for all creators. When the creator converts Earthned Robux into cash, he will receive an additional 8.5 per cent, provided that the terms of our development plan are complied with.”
“The promotion of DevEx is one of the most direct ways we can reward creators for the great value they bring to Roblox. This year, we adopted regional pricing, creator awards and incentive video advertisements. The way in which creators make money in experience has been expanded, while increasing user participation. In the coming months, we will also extend regional pricing to all types of experience-related items, which can provide users with more affordable prices that are more in line with the local economy.”

The old exchange rate of US$ 0.0035 per Earthed Robux and the new rate of US$ 0.0038 mean that the creator earns 8.5 per cent more, without additional operation, for all Robux eligible for DevEx (but the old Robux is still converted at the old rate). The regional pricing extension, which now covers game passes and developer products, is about to be extended to all items in the experience. This helps producers to increase their income in emerging markets while increasing global user accessibility.
Nick Tono, Senior Vice-President of Roblox Engineering, said: “We are constantly exploring new ways to support developers in building a prosperous business on the platform, and raising the exchange rate is the most direct way to pay off the great value of the creators. Our goal is to give developers the opportunity to turn creativity into a growing cause. It has proved that when creators are given powerful tools and opportunities, they can always create amazing works by breaking creative boundaries.”
